LostAshanti Parables: What They Call Love?

When he told her he was willing to do what it takes for them to be together. She replied. Image

“Climb to the very top of tallest mango tree. Find the biggest, juiciest and ripest mango and bring it to me. Then you would have proven your love for me.”

He went to complete this chosen task. That night she spent with another.

When he returned, he presented her the biggest, juiciest, ripest mango he could find. After laughing at his torn clothes she ate the entire Mango, then complained that it was bruised on one side. She went away without another word.

Days later he went looking for her. He asked her to accompany him to river for he had something special to show her. She said she could not go, for she was already going to the river – with a friend. And with that she skipped across the path to meet this friend. The friend mocked him, putting his arms around her. He smiled at the friend and returned home.

He tried to find her after this day and could not. While waiting he began to occupy his time with things satisfying to his soul. wood sculpting, the calming effect of the river & mid night fire dances, with free beautifully spirited people.

One in particular; Imoleayo was her name, danced with an energy so to complement his. This energy he discovered reigned true in all her expressions. She spoke directly to his spirit. When he spoke of his visions, she added harmonious colours. When he spoke of his troubles she possessed the calming effect of the river, guiding him to worry not, for what he is to share would come to him, and if he is not – he will know.

Finally one day, she who he could not find returned. He went to her.

“Are you here because you are now ready.” He asked. “Will we now be together.”

“We would have been together.” She scornfully replied. “But you were to busy – with her.”

  1. I read some of your article above. Interesting stuff.
Where did you get your information about William Wilberforce?
I’ve never heard some of those things about him before. That doesn’t mean there not true, but I’d appreciate some substance. As you’re probably well aware, some people do fabricate information to support their arguement.
According to history, enslaved people did struggle for their freedom. But there was also help from free people.
Many people when tracing back their family line have discovered that yes, some of their ancesters were enslaved, that’s hard enough, but there is worse to come. They also discover that one or more of their ancesters were slaveowners. This is hard to take on board. It was quite possibly down to rape that this happened, tho that may not have been the case in every instance. But for anyone with ancesters that were both slaves & slaveowners, it’s a hard pill to swallow, cos what does it make them? They need to remember, that they are themselves. They are here, not hundreds of years ago. Yes the past can affect us, but how it affects us is alot down to us. & ofcorse if we waste today blaming, & hating, it will affect tomorrow. But why not be positive? We’re mankind, we all decend from the same place, so let’s move forward together in peace. Or we can repeat the mistakes of the past, which will involve much suffering.
    The choice is ours.
